The Mercy Ministries Partners with Consolation Baptist Association to Provide Free Dental Care
On Friday, April 30, The Mercy Ministries and the Consolation Baptist Association hosted the Georgia Baptist Mobile Dental Ministry in Graham, GA. In a single day, 2 volunteer dentists, 2 dental assistants, and multiple other volunteers treated 15 indigent patients with free dental care.
The Mercy Ministries Dental Coordinator, Jessica Thursby, said “The generosity of time and talents of these volunteers touched more than the individual patients. It also positively impacted their families and communities. It’s more than just dental work, it’s lifting a burden of pain and suffering. ”
The Mercy Ministries is a non-profit healthcare organization that operates two safety-net clinics for uninsured, low-income adults with chronic disease. With a focus on the whole person, Mercy offers primary medical care, dental care, specialty care referrals, medication attainment, healthy lifestyle classes, behavioral health services, counseling, financial management, and work-readiness classes. There are currently two campuses, Lyons and Graham, which serve over 600 individuals in our community.
